New Year...

Welcome back from break! I hope everyone enjoyed the vacation that flew by us! Applied Communication 12 students and 10th grade students had a writing assignment today to tell me about their adventures over the break. I wanted them to share at least 2 gifts! My two favorites were my 4GB MP3 player and my 60 picture digital key chain! Tomorrow, the 12th graders will begin Chapter 4 of the Communicating for Success Book. We will also be discussing the fast approaching Senior Projects (due at the end of the month!). 10th graders need to read the last story in Collection 3 about Typhoid Fever. Thursday will be the Unit 3 Review and Friday will be the Unit 3 Test. Future plans involve an informational speech, 4sight review and 4sight testing.

The Rose Bowl did occur over the break. Penn State had a heartbreaking loss to USC in Pasadena to end their season 11-2. GO STATE! ROAR!

Bitterness

Why couldn't have Penn State played that good two weeks ago as they did Saturday?

Bitter fan...

I still love you State...

Monday, Monday...

Between no bells ringing and not having a clock, the 12 Applied Communications students showed me their final drafts of written speeches for the oral presentations. Students began working on note-cards for the presentations. Presentations will begin on Wednesday!

10th grade students finished their Unit 2 tests. A lot of students were either not finished on Friday by the end of the period or absenteeism was at a high rate.

Pd. 2 & 8 received the Informational PSSA Practice Prompt. They need to brainstorm, provide a rough draft and a final draft. The final draft is due on Wednesday, November 19th.

Pd. 4 & 7 need another period to either finish the Unit 2 test or just start it. We will begin to he paper will Period 4 on Wednesday due to Career Exploration tomorrow and Period 7 tomorrow.

Co-Teaching Seminar

Marilyn Friend rocks! The co-teaching seminar was really helpful. Mrs. Keifman and I look forward to working on the new strategies that we learned more about. We want to work on our approach in the classroom to benefit our students as much as possible!
