Applied Communications 12 - Week of Sept. 29-Oct. 3rd

The Seniors started Chapter 2: Communicating Definitions on Monday. We are currently using the Communicating for Success textbook everyday. (Reminder - bring your notebook, binder, pencil and bellwork notebook as well EVERYDAY!).

Chapter 2 focuses on students career interests. It has the students uses vocabulary and terms within these interests. Students should give careful attention to writing clearly and creating user-friendly page design when doing their final project (I'll discuss that later). So far this week, we have discussed slang, dialect, concrete, abstract, criteria and acronyms. Students explored what acronyms they knew and were surprised to find out that everyday ones, such as ZIP code, do have meaning. (Zone Improvement Plan).

That is all the farther we have gotten in the chapter. Look forward to more!
