Teachers spent Monday, October 13, 2008 listening to Mr. David Vega speak about a vocabulary philosophy that improves students metacognition (thinking about thinking).
Then, on Tuesday, Tuesday, October 14, 2008 we got to implement some of these strategies into our own content areas. Mrs. Phoebe Keifman and myself, spent the majority of the day making smartcards, frayer models and other types of graphic organizers to help assist students in gaining Tier 2 and Tier 3 vocabulary practice.

I am pleased with your work and am very excited about it!!!! I would like to share that I found the work day to implement the new found strategies very beneficial.
