Unit 2: From Generation to Generation

10 grade students are beginning Unit 2. They have learned about character, direct and indirect characterization, dramatic monologue and soliloquy. Then we discussed the classifications of character: flat, round and stock. After this, the students completed an exercise taking a character from one of the short stories that we have read, and find three character traits. Then, we discussed which literary device was being used. Finally, we classified the character.

Students received the first five vocabulary smart cards from the story The Opportunity. The students will need five note cards to draw and make the other five smart cards. Then we will have a total of ten vocabulary words.
