Writing Clear Sentences

After a long weekend for the students, 12 AP COMM reviewed the three-parts of a sentence and reviewed the expanded definition. Today we talked about the parts of an expanded definition. We discussed the title, introduction, body and closing. Then we discussed writing clear sentences and sentence length. Students completed a short practice in class with their table partner combining three sentences. Then three students shared their revised sentences on the board for everyone else. For independent practice, the students were assigned page 47 Practice 2:2 part 2. They were to copy down the extremely long sentence and break it up into three or four shorter sentences. We will go over this tomorrow in the beginning of class.
