Character Relationships/ Vocabulary Test/ Vocabulary Graphic Organizer

Grade 10 students learned about character relationships. They learned new terms and reviewed other terms such as: protagonist, antagonist, external and internal conflict, subordinate, dynamic and static characters and motivation of characters. The students then completed an exercise using one of the short stories we have already read to explain these terms.

Today, students had their vocabulary test about the words for the story The Opportunity. This test was slightly more challenging because besides the matching portion, the students had to fill-in-the-blank using word banks to complete sentences.

Students are starting the third story in Unit 2 called Two Kinds. There are 10 new vocabulary words. Students are using a graphic organizer to study these words. They fill in the word, two synonyms, two antonyms, and a sample sentence for each word. This is started in class and will be finished for homework.
