Wednesday - Oct. 8
10th grade students finished reading The Pedestrian. They were then assigned a writing task. This asked them to add on an additional ending to the story. It required them to take the main character, Leonard Mead into the Psychiatric Center for Regressive Tendencies. Using the same setting, mood and tone, as Ray Bradbury did, the students had to answer the following questions:
- Who was running the center, humans or robots?
- What do they look like?
- How are they dressed?
- How is the building furnished?
Thursday - Oct. 9
Today, we began review for the Unit 1 test. First the students used the plot diagram to plot out one of the 4 main stories that we read in this unit. Then we worked on a setting chart. We also discussed multiple choice questions. Tomorrow, we will continue with the review after the vocabulary test for The Pedestrian.
