Applied Communication 12 reviewed how to replace non-specific groups with more informative groups. Then, the students practiced writing their own three-part sentence definitions. This seemed to be difficult for a lot of students to do. We worked on this for about 20 minutes. Then, we discussed a second problem that can come about in defining a problem. This problem was Failure to Analyze When Defining a Term. The describer must decide if the audience is general or specialized. The students completed exercise Practice 2.9 independently. Tomorrow, will define technical terms and begin exploring expanded definitions.
